Tanzanian Organisations
Your organisation or company operations in Tanzania are responsible for a certain amount of emissions each year. To offset these emissions and to ensure that your company can be referred to as “Carbon Neutral” you need to first assess your carbon footprint to obtain an idea of the tonnage of carbon released by your company each year. Once this is known, the funds required to offset these emissions can be calculated.
If your organisation has not conducted a carbon audit and you would like to gain an approximate idea of your annual carbon footprint, please and we will help to arrange a carbon audit for you. Some of the activities and areas that will be evaluated in any carbon audit include the following:
- Number of vehicles in your company and average miles driven
- Type of company (production, trading etc…)
- Energy usage (electricity, fuelwood etc…)
- Frequency and distance of air travel
Once this assessment has been conducted it will allow us to estimate your carbon footprint and we will recommend to you what further action you can take, including the purchase of offset credits or the adoption of energy saving practices to reduce your carbon footprint.
We calculate CO2 based on data provided by the GHG protocol.
Some organisations will have already conducted a full carbon audit. If your organisation has done this and you wish to buy offsets from Carbon Tanzania or determine the best payment mechanism for your organisation please .
